I happen to use Fedora 10. For those of you who do not know what Fedora is,
"Fedora is a Linux-based operating system that showcases the latest in free and open source software. Fedora is always free for anyone to use, modify, and distribute. It is built by people across the globe who work together as a community: the Fedora Project. The Fedora Project is open and anyone is welcome to join." http://fedoraproject.org/
And it has been giving me so many problems of late. This week alone, I've had to run a file check (using the fsck command) three times or else my system wouldn't load. And three good times, I lost a lot of my files. Luckily, I found them in my /home/lost+found folder, thanks to Google and Henry Addo, a friend. I'd always wondered what the lost+found folder was for. Now I know. I've also had my computer freeze so many times, only a restart will suffice. And sometimes it has been so slow, it takes 5 minutes or more to simply close a file
Back to the forced file check problem, tomorrow, I'll be attending a GHOSS meeting. There, hopefully, we'll find the cause and a solution. Talking about GHOSS...check my next blog.
